Behind the Poll:

The Igloo Products Corporation, which produces ice chests and coolers, was recently found to have hired foreign visa workers instead of qualified Americans.

An investigation by the DOJ concluded that the corporation discriminated against Americans over the course of at least 2 months. A DOJ spokesman said: “Employers cannot favor workers on temporary visas and ignore applications from qualified U.S. workers because of assumptions based on citizenship or immigration status.”

The corporation must now pay the federal government $21,000, and pay Americans who missed out on work $40,000 in back pay. Do you think they should have hired Americans, or is it okay for corporations to seek out foreign workers instead?
