New Hampshire legislators recently introduced a proposal to ban vaccine mandates in public and private schools, hospitals, and businesses. The bill’s primary sponsor, GOP Rep. Rick Ladd, gave the following reasons for his support of the bill:
“It is my constitutional right to either be vaccinated or not. It’s my choice, not that of the government. To be denied employment based upon not being vaccinated is nothing short of discrimination.”
Republican officials in many red states are taking steps to restrict or ban vaccine mandates and associated COVID-19 restrictions. Are they doing the right thing, or should they follow the Democrats’ lead instead?
