In an unsurprising, yet revolting turn of events, California lawmakers have struck a deal that offers free health care to some illegal immigrants in the state, as The Washington Times, reports:
Democrats in the state Legislature reached an agreement Sunday afternoon as part of a broader plan to spend $213 billion of state and federal tax money over the next year.
The agreement means low-income adults between the ages of 19 and 25 living in California illegally would be eligible for California’s Medicaid program, the joint state and federal health insurance program for the poor and disabled.
Not everyone in that age group would get the health benefits, but only those whose incomes are low enough to qualify for the program. State officials estimate that will be about 90,000 people at a cost of $98 million per year.
The move is part of a larger effort to make sure everyone in California has health insurance. The proposal also makes California the first state in the country to help middle-income families pay their monthly health insurance premiums.
The agreement means a family of four earning as much as six times the federal poverty level – or more than $150,000 a year – would be eligible to get about $100 a month from the government to help pay their monthly health insurance premiums.
But to pay for part of it, the state will begin taxing people who don’t have health insurance.
It’s a revival of the individual mandate penalty that had been law nationwide under former President Barack Obama’s health care law until Republicans in Congress eliminated it as part of the 2017 overhaul to the tax code.
In addition the legislation would revive the individual mandate in California and extend subsidies to families of four earning less than $150,000 per year, as The Hill reports:
In addition, the agreement is set to make California the first state to offer aid to middle-class families with their monthly health insurance premiums.
Under the agreement, a family of four earning more than $150,000 would be eligible to receive about $100 a month from the government for their monthly health insurance premium bills, AP reported.
The state will reportedly tax individuals who do not pay for health insurance in order to pay for part of it. The policy would revive an individual mandate penalty that initially came with the federal health care bill former President Obama signed into law.
GOP lawmakers eliminated the individual mandate from the Affordable Care Act when it overhauled the tax law in 2017.
Why should people who have broken our laws, and thumbed their nose at our country get free healthcare.
Hope this results in every illegal immigrant in the United States moving to California to get their free stuff.

People should leave California as soon as possible. Other people should call,write,or email the president and tell him not to increase any federal monies for social programs for California. Remember they seek reimbursement from us the taxpayers for social programs.

Anyone in California that believes this obscene use of their tax dollars should demand their elected represenatives either resign or their only option is to leave the State. I live in Illinois and I like thousand of others are planning to leave because of being taxed to death to support illegals and people who are corrupt. If you can leave it may be your very best option.
I lived in Ca. for most of my life and voted every election since Regan as a Republican… unfortunately in Ca. my vote did not go far and now with all the lying cheating and illegal votes it is no longer possible for a Republican to have any fair chance in CA.
So not all of us are morons, in fact, I moved to Hawaii three years ago to get away from the chaos and crazies. It’s sad but most Californians like I was (fifth generation CA.) have made their own migration over the past 20 years to several other states- most now almost as bad.
This is called buying votes, & it’s supposed to be illegal.
We were in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago and the amount of homeless people is staggering. Instead of this money going to illegal immigrants how about taking care of the homeless problem for people that are actually here legally. One of my daughters who we don’t usually agree on politically actually agreed with me.
Why in the flip are these TREASONOUS acts allowed to go on is the big question?
Well at this rate we are all going to have to move to Honduras or Guatemala, after all, most of their citizens will be here soon- 1/3 of all Hondurans alive already live here- so We can rebuild there and Newsom and his ilk can have Ca.
I was born and raised in CA. and loved it for 50 years of my life, growing up in SD in the 70s/80s was amazing! but three years ago I had all I can take of the immigrants, illegals, but most of all the Liberals taking over the State and turning what was once the most beautiful state, a leader in the nation, great schools, etc. into a literal (yes Frisco I’m talking to YOU) Shithole!!!
How dare this liberal elitist Newsom give even one cent to an illegal when there are over 130K homeless men women and children in Ca. when there is one single uneducated, unmedicated, U.S. Citizen!
