On September 16, special counsel John Durham indicted Perkins Coie lawyer Michael Sussmann for a false statement he made to promote the Trump–Russia collusion narrative. At the time Sussman made his false statement, he was working for the Clinton campaign.
Sussman is the second indictment in Durham’s ongoing investigation into the origins of the Trump–Russia collusion hoax. Durham indicted former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith in August 2020.
