GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is exploring possible legislation to hold the mainstream media accountable for lies that they spread. This would ensure the media has to devote equal amounts of time and effort to correcting lies as they do to spreading them in the first place.
She said: “The freedom of the press is not the freedom to lie. And that is the biggest thing we have to focus on. There needs to be accountability, and I think that’s something we really need to look at.”
