Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger continued his very public feud with President Donald Trump on Tuesday, releasing a video taunting the president over his falling approval ratings.
“The ratings are in, and you got swamped,” Schwarzenegger said. “Wow, now you’re in the 30s? But what do you expect when you take away after-school programs for children and Meals on Wheels for the poor people?”
Schwarzenegger was referring to a recent Gallup poll in which only 37 percent of Americans said they approve of the job the president is doing, while 58 percent disapprove.
Reviving a battle that has raged on and off for months on Twitter, Schwarzenegger needled the president about his budget proposal to slash funding for after-school programs. The former governor adds: “That’s not what you call Making America Great Again. Come on, who’s advising you?” He suggests Trump head to Hart Middle School, just miles from the White House, and see for himself how the programs work. “I’ll take you there,” he offers.
