Behind the Poll:

Democrats are attempting to pass a budget reconciliation bill that would cost almost $2 trillion. Included in the bill is a national tax rise, especially for historically blue states. It’s estimated that the average top tax rate on personal income would rise to 57.4%.

The highest taxes would be in New York, California, and New Jersey. The Tax Foundation has warned that this “will also reduce incentives to work, save, invest, and innovate, with broad implications for the U.S. economy.”

The Democrats claim that these tax rises are necessary to fund new social programs created by the Build Back Better Act and to expand existing ones, like Medicare. Do you think we should pay more taxes to fund Democrat programs?
