He needs to watch what he says…
President Trump has come out and said that does not like the comments Defense Secretary Mark Esper said in a recent press briefing. Esper stated that he did not like using military force to stop the violent riots and also stated that he did not know about the “photo op” with Trump.
On the military force, he said, “The option to use active duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort, and only in the most urgent and dire of situations. We are not in one of those situations now. I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act.”
Because of the comments, a Politico writer tweeted out:
PLAYBOOK PM:
“TICK, TOCK … WILL TRUMP DUMP ESPER SOON? …BREAKING — Secretary MARK ESPER is walking on thin ice, according to administration officials. And eyes widened in the White House this morning when ESPER held a particularly sharp, newsy and notable news conference.

Trump’s response to Esper according to Bloomberg was:
President Donald Trump and other top aides were upset that Defense Secretary Mark Esper publicly opposed the deployment of active-duty forces to confront protesters in U.S. cities, as Trump has suggested, and viewed the Pentagon chief’s remarks as out of line.
Esper might be on the road to getting fired if he keeps this up. Read the full story here.
