Christian Bale won a Golden Globe award for best actor with his role of Dick Cheney in “Vice.” He then used his acceptance speech to largely insult the man he portrayed.

In particular Bale gave credit to Satan as his inspiration for former Vice President Cheney.

“Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration on how to play this role,” Bale said to the crowd.

The actor continued to slight Cheney when he was recalling what director Adam McKay was looking for in the role.

“He said, ‘I’ve got to find somebody who can be absolutely charisma-free and reviled by everybody.’ And he went, ‘Ah it’s got to be Bale in it.’ … Thank you, and for all the competition, I will be cornering the market on charisma-free a**holes,” Bale said according to The Hill.

Obviously pandering to his crowd, Bale then turned his attention on the U.S. Senate majority leader.

“What do you think, Mitch McConnell next?” Bale openly questioned. “That could be good, wouldn’t it?”
