Secretary of State Rex Tillerson met with the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations on Thursday and urged the association to tighten up its dealings with North Korea, as the rogue communist country continues to become more of a viable threat.

The meeting was absolutely crucial to the goal of cutting funding for North Korea’s country’s missile programs.

North Korea, according to Breitbart, has just launched its 75th missile test since leader Kim Jong Un rose to power. These tests, and shows of power by North Korea need to be reined in and Tillerson worked with the members of ASEAN on ways to address the North Korean issue through united strength.

According to the U.S. deputy assistant secretary of state for East Asia, Patrick Murphy, those ways combat the growing North Korea threat are aimed at cutting off the Hermit Kingdom’s lifeline to the outside world.
