A 7-foot statue of Thomas Jefferson has stood inside New York City Hall for more than 100 years. But now that statue is in danger of removal.
Far-left activists on the Public Design Commission have deemed the Jefferson statue to be a ‘racist’ symbol.
“How the hell can people see as a hero someone who had hundreds of enslaved Africans, someone who was a racist and who said we were inferior and someone who was a slaveholding pedophile?” Assemblyman Charles Barron asked. “For him to be canonized in a statue is incredible – incredibly racist.”
On October 19, 2021, former President Donald Trump issued this statement:
Well, it’s finally happened. The late, great Thomas Jefferson, one of our most important Founding Fathers, and a principal writer of the Constitution of the United States, is being “evicted” from the magnificent New York City Council Chamber. Who would have thought this would ever be possible (I did, and called it long ago!). Next up, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln and, of course, George Washington. The Radical Left has gone crazy, and it’s hurting our Country badly—But someday soon, sane people will be back, and our Country will be respected again!
