Behind the Poll:

A private-sector vaccine mandate has recently taken effect in New York City, and the business community is unhappy. It applies to all workers and requires them to show proof they’ve received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The mandate applies to around 185,000 businesses, making it a drastic policy shift with limited time to arrange means of enforcing it. Some have questioned its legality and vowed to challenge it in court.

Do you think mandates like this stifle the freedom of businesses to set their conditions of employment and harm their success?
