Behind the Poll:
Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened military action against NATO for expanding eastwards toward Russia’s borders. Ukraine is a particular flashpoint. Putin emphasized that America and its allies “must understand that we have nowhere to retreat further.”
He also said that Russia would “take adequate military-technical response measures and react harshly to unfriendly steps” from NATO but made clear he would prefer diplomacy.
