Behind the Poll:

Michael Flynn Files Restraining Order Against Pelosi

In a surprise move, General Michael Flynn (retired) filed a restraining order against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the Jan. 6 Select Committee.

Flynn served briefly as National Security Advisor for former President Donald Trump in 2016.

According to the Western Journal, Flynn initiated the restraining order and complaint to “stop a subpoena from the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol.”

The subpoena seeks information and testimony from Flynn.

Flynn’s complaint argues that the Committee did not have “legal authority” to make their request for information.

The restraining order extends to all members of the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack: Nancy Pelosi, Bennie Thompson, Elizabeth Cheney, Adam Schiff, Jamie Raskin, Susan Lofgren. Peter Aguilar, Stephanie Murphy, Adam Kinzinger, and Elaine Luria.

Flynn is seeking a temporary injunction until a court can adjudicate the legality of the subpoena.
