Texas’s contestant in the Miss America pageant ripped President Trump on Sunday night for his response to the violence at a white supremacist rally last month in Charlottesville, Va.

“I think that the white supremacist issue, it was very obvious, that it was a terrorist attack,” said Margana Wood, who represented Texas in the pageant. “And I think that President Donald Trump should’ve made a statement earlier addressing the fact, and in making sure all Americans feel safe in this country.

“That is the number one issue right now.”

Wood made the remarks when she was asked about Trump’s response to the violence. A woman participating in a march condemning white supremacism was killed when a man drove a car into the crowd of demonstrators. The man arrested in the incident had taken part in the white supremacist rally.
This wasn’t the only time Trump came under criticism during the pageant.

The winner of the competition, Cara Mund of North Dakota, also went after Trump for his decision to pull the U.S. out of the Paris climate agreement earlier this year, ABC reported.
